The Millstream in the heart of woodstock
This swimming hole is right at the center of town. Down the road from the restaurant “Joshua”. There’s no longer parking by the stream, you’ll have to park in town and take a short walk.

Big Deep
There is no address or sign, So here are directions: From Woodstock go east on NY-212 E/Mill Hill about a mile, the entrance is on the right, immediately after the private Casablanca Lane. There might be a hand-made sign, It looks like a trail into the woods marked off with a barrel on each side.

K. Wilson state park
Completely surrounded by beautiful mountains total picturesque setting. You can rent Kayaks, walk the trails. Or just sit by the water in a few viewing platforms. Dogs permitted on a leash.

Vernooykill falls
Vernooy Falls Trail is a 3.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Kerhonkson, New York that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Kaaterskill falls
You can view the falls from below, where there’s a swimming hole as well. It’s a short, popular hike, that could be slippery at places. To get o the trail you’ll need to park the car in the small lot, on route 23A, and walk a short distance down a curvy road with traffic, must be careful.
